Its a way to express myself, create flavours and produce something for the people I care about. My girlfriend says their nothing sexier than a man in the kitchen cooking for his partner .

thats lovely yes I have several male friends who love to cook, and I get to benefit from it! they really do love experimenting and trying different dishes. I wish I had that passion for cooking (it's terribly expensive and unhealthy to buy outside food all the time) but I just seem never to like it...

The worst is people who say "I can't cook" and so don't even try and then leave their partners to have to do all of the work, all the time. I don't think I could live with someone again who doesn't cook.

got clearance from the faculty this morning to enter some of the oldest and very restricted works. i have to handle one of my books with white doctor gloves and a breathing mask so i don't drool on it. who said being a historian isn't cool?
My wife is heavily into it where I am not (except for the eating part). But I get it -- it's a creative outlet, a sort of art with its own medium, and there's all sorts of social aspects to doing it too in the right context.

I guess its a personal thing. When i was 10/11 my went back to work and told me and my brother we would have too cook some meals for ourselves some nights and since then i've cooked for myself. My mum was a cooking instructor at leiths in london (one of the top cookery school over here) until she got married so I guess its in my genes.

I get that, but I kind of hate having other people cook for me - im a bit of a control freak when it comes to cooking. I've cooked for myself since i was 10/11 so it feels weird not to cook for myself. Unless its something I haven't learnt to cook or in a restaurant. My girlfriend didn't know how to cook, but she asked me for lessons so now she does...cooking lessons on skype are strange.
I love to cook only when i have everything washed, cut and ready in different plates and bowls (like in those cooking shows) and if i dont have to clean up after.
