It's nothing to bowl you over like the sight of the Himalayas, but the simple beauty of the countryside is definitely to be appreciated. But it's not a clear-cut thing, is what I am trying to say. You are making the sweeping generalisation that everything in Britain is boring, whereas I am trying to say that some people enjoy it. But just because A exists, doesn't mean B is COMPLETELY shit, it just means that it is not as good, but still has merits that can be enjoyed. Some people want the charm of Britain, and while they would equally enjoy seeing NZ, can't afford to.

Truth be told, the first time I had to go to London for work I was not looking all that forward to it. A bunch of English-speakers in a big city, I expected a European knock-off of any other major city I've been to in the English-speaking world. But I was delightfully surprised. There's a lot of uniqueness to London that's pretty cool.
