With your "whatever", you seemed maybe a little irritated about some of us talking about it. So I don't get where you're coming from is all.
I was a little irritated by your sarcastic alien comments. It wasn't the perfect time for that. Anyway, it's water under the bridge.

Sorry to hear that man. Being involved in an accident leaves you with one of the worst feelings ever. Never mind the money you'll have to cough up & being left with no transport. Will your insurance company cover everything & give you a courtesy car at least?
Yeah, and this was my first one.

Since I did not do any other damage to other vehicles, I wasn't going to claim with the insurance company. Good thing I'm on a 6 days off from work and could use my gf's car for my needs.

I think he wanted a little compassion.
Yeah, hence my guy/solution-oriented comment.

Klin: that does really suck. I've had that happen to me before (way back in Columbia, Maryland, btw, Aaron). Tires, undercarriage damage, etc. Freaked me out for a while and I could barely move my car. But the good thing is totally you're alright. You can always fix the rest of the stuff.

It sucks, i feel for you. Take my advice, when the car is fixed, sell it asap. You'll end up with more hassles than anything else & never mind the drop in resale value.

I know, you're right. I'm just anxious to get it fixed and up and running again.

Thanks, and sorry for the little misunderstanding.

Sell it?

I just got it out from the showroom 2 years ago. That's out of the question.

Funny you say that, my worst accident was in Ellicott City, MD on River Road along the Patapsco River. I can around a turn at 35-40 mph and the road was completely washed out. I managed to slow the car down to about 15 mph before I lost control. Slid sideways toward the river, but managed to avoid a bath by side swiping a mound bouncing off and eventually slowing due to the mud.

No problem, Klin. I still vividly remember my similar experience and it was years ago. So I should have expected that it's no joking matter -- at least for a while.

Ah, the Patapsco. Forgot about that wonderous river. :D

Wow. Flooding a car would have been nasty. You can completely total a car in water.

The best thing was I came out of it with a dirt undercarriage, dirt radiator, flat front left tire, and a bumper that would occasionally pop off until I wired it to the frame.
