Alot of rappers dabble a bit in production, especially veterans, but it means little, doesnt make them producers, or really noteworthy excellent ones either. Just that they grow creatively with their responsibilities. Eminem is defenitely not a noteworthy producer even if he works on parts of his work like some MCs do.

And Zozo that sounds familiar prolly because it was in MF dooms instrumental work album special herbs vol. 3.

In terms of dope producers, highly recommend one called Gramatik, all instrumentals, ridicolously rich and varied in his beat making work.

Yeah I listened to it. MF doom has way too many aliases :p

And yeah Madlib is king indeed, him and J.Dilla most chill producers.

If you like Madlib look up a rapper called Freddie Gibbs (real dope), most of Madlibs best work is with him (nicknamed Madgibbs), they released an album together couple months ago called Pinata.

His beats fit his rapping style well. He also made beats for Nas and Jay-Z. Renegade, Without Me, Till I Collapse, The Cross, Patiently Waiting and Moment of Clarity are all great beats in my opinion.

I may disagree because I listened to Thugging for years while Harold is fresh for last 2 months alone :D But they are both on the same album, which is funny but normal, artist generally put years old songs from mixtapes into their first studio album. Its the same with the song Shame.

This be one of Madlibs best productions.

"aaah ahhh I geeeeeeeets hiiiiigh" :D

Though skip the song when Danny Brown comes on, he kinda ruins its rhytm, usually like him, but not for Madlib style beats.
