For one, Audioslave's recordings doesn't sound like it was recorded in a butthole Superunknown is a fantastic album and probably the best Cornell ever done, but as far as the style goes, I've always loved Audioslave's simple melodic drop-d approach waaay more.

Only the first 2 Soundgarden albums aren't amazing in terms of recording quality. All Audioslave is 2000+ and they would already have money then to record properly.
