Smoothest Freddie song yet? This first beat is ohweee @King of Kings, not sure if you even like the very underrated GangstaGibbs, but you must listen for this groovy beat alone.
He can be really dope to really weird/shitty due to attitude (really comes off as a destructive thug thats a product of his harsh invironment), done some very lazy songs (first 5 songs I heard from him was absolute shit as fuck lol, before no flockin and skrt saved him for me). Has genuine sound and comes off very natural and raw expression in what he does, not another of those fleeting hype machine mumble rappers that lives off fruity fakery and just beats (unlike them Kodak personifies ghetto lol), but the more you listen to him, you'll see he's actually talented youngster who makes music with lots of heart and evolving as an artist (still a dumb kid growing up, but has shit to say).
Needs to get off the dumbass path of violating rules of the obstacles put infront of him and avoid prison.
Its kind of weird timing he makes it "big" now when he was getting less attention a year or so ago when releasing better stuff. Power of the super viral hype of tunnel vision song I guess. Suprisingly busy short career for someone who just turned 19 I think.
My fav song with him (and realest song he made), feels almost like a documentary of his reality, which is a good sign for an artist:
I think he is a great artist a true natural talent. But he is also a mess. He needs people helping him that are looking out for his best interests and actually care about him and his future.
To be fair he pours his heart out on that song, especially the 2nd verse, one of the more meaningful ones he has made.
Speaking of dope mixing/instrumentals, the legendary Dj Quik has a new LP out, called rosencrans (same name as his little EP last year). Its too smooth, this my fav song of his in it, genuine vibes.
Btw Nas released something that's basically a legitimate Blues song a few days ago, but it's kinda weird
Bridging The Gap is one of my favorites of him tbh, but this one...
Last "new" song I had heard from Krs One was comin' in ages ago, a whole new album by ze teach? Nice to hear he is back into music, he has been lecturing/writing for most part the decade so this comes as a suprise.
"Rockin da microphone til I'm muthafuckin 60" Preach
