OK that was the last time I ever mentionned you :D

Here I thought you as the the main soul/funk music afficianado in this forum would be likely to try out to a new cat thats trying to bring back the smooth sound.

Shaping up to sound like a grammy nom worthy album so far:

I gave his album a listen a few days ago. He's obviously talented and I can see the qualities, but for some reason I don't really love it. His way of singing can be kind of annoying without some kind of counterbalance. :D

Yeah he has an unusual raspy voice, not sure if on purpose stylistically or natural. Also I found his first album to be erratic (too experimental, something missing), but this album with the COMPLETELY new sound (heavy funk/soul influences) and production, his wavvy singing, and the heavy features (its like they know shits going down and and want to lineup featuring, Talib, BJ Chi kid, The Game, Rapsody, Schoolboy Q), makes of hella combination. Was listening to an interview of Ty Dollah Sign and he was hyping this dude as heck.

The mixing in this is bit off, but was just listening to him featuring on a Madlib album, and found this, nice:

He is fairly unknown so to speak so far, but if he doesnt blown up this year I'll be shocked.

No I haven't, but he kinda been retired for me for ages. Barely does any music, nor focuses on acting, so bit weird hermit since he changed name.

Hope his last album is dope tho.

@Osman, that song you posted here yesterday is awesome. Best thing you posted in this thread. I know that doesn't say a lot since you post a lot of crap, but thanks anyway. :D

Damn @Osman, is this the greatest amount of talent & skill to ever come together on one stage at one time?

I mean seriously, they got Wu-Tang, Guru, CL Smooth, A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, Fu-Schnickens, MC Lyte....

Haha yeah it was, the fucking defitinion of lit as fuck genuine Hiphop (Mad Lion :touched: ), only missing few dope trios/groups to make it priceless, like Mobb deep, Brand Nubian, Fugees, Rakim&Eric B (east coast thing so not considering all west coast ones missing), but not gonna be too greedy lol. Arsenio Hall hit the jackpot with this (if this happend now...firstly it wouldnt...but it would happen in corny Jimmy Fallons show). Treach and KRS One murdered the shit outta this session, ODB hilarious with his line lol.
