Oh shit! I remember seeing this in Rap city. He was just a kid and rapping so raw and truthfully, kinda sad. His rugged child album was dope.

One of the rare artists that sounded so naturally gritty without trying and from a meritocratic rap age where even the kids (the other dope kid was vicious with freaks)had to be as real and talented as fuck just to be heard.

Also his voice sounded better before he grew up (dude is in jail now I think).

The drum beat is insane and yeah it's bit familiar.

He is 15 in that clip while looking 11 lol. He released his debute album same time as illmatic, good year. Back then I used to think he was method Man's little brother, no idea why.

If you hear this song you will hear how MUCH a current rapper sounds exactly like Shyheim does in this song (and in general when Shy is older). Question is who sounds like him? ;) @Ocelot @Salvo @Nzoric @Völler

Lol I assume you would guessed on the current rapper anyways. The others should be able to get it too. It's fairly clear, same type of voice/style.

dammit, that hipster ruins it :D

This kid is added to my list of unknown gems I mention when randomers who are too lazy to find talent say Hiphop is dead. Kid been making proper dope Hiphop from 16 years and up (he's still a dorky teen).

I'm referring to the one called Bishop Nehru (works alot with mf doom under the name Nehruvian doom), who pretty much heavily influences him as his protege)

Oh and, Osman. Plenty of quality hiphop being produced still.

I've always listened to hiphop secondary to rock/metal so of course I devote less time to being updated on new releases.
