Devin's music is pretty hard to get into IMO. First tries are usually fruitless. But I think he has a beautiful catalogue of music, and is definitely an interesting artist if you admire stuff like Tool.

Dream Theater is probably the most progressive. Tool is definitely close though.

The drumming at the end is amazing.

that drummer sounds good but Danny Carey is something else. He makes the drum kit sound very musical more than anyone else. I also love the sound Carey's drums compared to the typical squashed rock/metal sounding drums.
