Lupe isn't really "butt-buddies" with Jay-Z... he just respects him.

Lupe's major influence is Nas without question, especially the album "It Was Written."

The front of Lupe's Food & Liquor album cover is stylized to look like that of Persian calligraphy. Along with this, Lupe begins Food & Liquor by reciting an Islamic prayer: A'uzu billahi min ash shaitani r rajimi Bismi 'llahi 'r-rahmani 'r-rahim, which translates to "I seek refuge from Satan the accursed... (And I Begin) In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful."
So? Rakim's been saying that since he's started, and get it right if you are going to say it, it's:

"Bismillah, al-ra7man, al-ha7heem"

It's been in my facebook for months, it looks like this:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Ohh, and I guess you then respect a guy who "speaks" Arabic but likes Persian artistry, that's not ironic....

I've listened to pretty much all his tracks, and his rhymes are no less than that of Kanye's. Perhaps his beats aren't as good, but then again his beats are very different. I believe the track American Terrorist is better than anything Kanye has put out.

Ohh, well that's true without a doubt...
I didn't even say greatest rapper alive. I said the greatest rapper in the game right now, as in this moment.
Then define that....put out an album in the last year or two, just wondering what you mean...
