To add some context to this, Evra was signed when he was past his prime but still turned out well. Pogba was a young kid on other hand.

Tevez was the only one who was somewhat in his prime and he was a massive success.

not sure how it's related though. the growth decree was valid for players who spent at least 2 years in italy and mckennie was hired by jj since 4 seasons iirc, so - unless the leeds period counts - he must be eligible. and even if he has to pay the normal tax rate, the difference must be below 1m, around 0.6m
