I guess welcome, i certainly don’t mind this move, altough it did come out of nowhere and he isn’t that much of a name we sure got our hands on a promising CDM/CM, age is on his side and there’s plenty of room for improvement, no matter the nationality he is , seems a decent player that could help us on the long run, even if only as a bench option for the time being, then the fact he is american can only help Juve grow even further on the US audiences which makes it a very good marketing move aswell nonetheless.

Some question marks regarding his fitness and mentality ofc but i believe he’ll be fine overall, still young and certainly won’t be one of the first names on the team sheet so definitely no need to be concerned about that just yet.

Really hope he surprises all of us in a good way.

According to SZ, the obligation is not linked to how many matches he plays, it becomes valid if we qualify for the CL lol.
Always the same scenario :lol3: Reported first as an option but then turns out we have to buy the player out anyway.
At 21m it's not that bad though, he's still young so worst case we will still get some bucks back for him.

Yeah, don't care much if true, but still funny.

He is not really known like that. Disrespect to say this is a marketing move. He is just a promising mid level talent they want to give a chance to.
Sure, but it does raise suspicion that the entire top 4 in Germany wasn't even trying for him. Heck, no elite club was in the market for him. Either he has stayed under the radar, which I doubt considering he played at Schalke and not at Arminia Bielefeld. Or it says a lot that only Southampton and Newcastle were trying to sign him. After the season we had we need marquee signings in midfield, which he most likely isn't.

Thats a critique that makes no sense, its called scouting, someone has to be the first to take a chance on a young player to show if they are ready for top level. The list of young lesser known players being signed with little fanfare and breaking out is long. We got Bentanctur from Boca, and he wasnt in anybody's radar. Vidal was just a mere 10m signing for a reason, wasnt seen as a big of a fuss at the time for a big club, even if Bayern wanted him (and was the standout midfielder in the league), it was still a signing seen as bit lowkey at the time.

i don't think he is going to make us a better team, but whatever.
Judging by the number of USA players who won the CL or played in a CL final, I think that's where we plan to use him most. We want to win the CL and Americans are famous for doing best in that particular competition. In Serie A we can do without him, but in Europe he's gonna be vital.

Maybe not for Juve followers, but it had Bayern fans raging. I couldn't believe we got him back then, was a huge transfer for me at the time.
Yeah, Rudi was a saint for cockblocing them, but he wasnt really known outside of Germany like that at the time. We knew he was a promising midfielder, but not much more.

I don't know ....some Tuzers forgot that football is a team play not an individuals sake ....

since Cr7 ...we and the management thought it was about names and personals ....but it is a collective team play instead ....

Lyon kicked us with City and they are inferior .....

the good thing about this signing it complements the other midfielders .... the guy is a none ...but from the videos, he is exactly what we miss ...

this is a good sign ....now him being success here it all depends on Pirlo now ....but the signing is a spot on to me

we could have names but we don't have money for that ....

Yes, Vidal was already big in Germany. I first saw him in 2007 at the youth world cup and I fell in love with him and his Chile, which would have won that WC if not for an Argentina with Aguero, Di Maria, Banega, Papu Gomez, Zarate, Fazio and Maxi Moralez. Then I lost him for a few years, until he became a hit in Bundesliga 2010-11. Bayern were dying to get him.
Incomparable to this American dude.

Vidal's signing back then was nothing like McKennie.

Bayern was trying to sign and we basically got him because Leverkusen told them to f off.

It would be like Bayern signing Locatelli now, a young player coming off of a great season that Juve want.

McKennie just came out of the blue for everyone.
