Well the terms of the deal are good for us. And he's definitely a B2B and not a DM. Whether he is good enough to be an impact B2B is another thing we have to find out.

Waaw that quick ....

We were missing the physical trait in the middle
I feel good about this signing ... and will be important to free the rest mids to create some dangers ....

I like pirlo more now ...

Welcome Weston - exciting to see what you can offer!

Not seen any of him and hadn’t heard of him until 3 days ago, looks full of energy and strength and we lack those traits in the middle so hopefully he goes on to have an excellent career here and really progresses

Vidal and Davids comparisons
Lawd, you people will be disappointed and the first ones to overreact and want his head.

Stick with Matuidi. Looks a bit better with ball, definitely better touch, but has penchant for dangerous turnovers (prefer him coming on as RM or LM rather than CM), much better in air (can help defend set pieces after coming on when leading and can hoof the ball to him down the line), more mobile/better stamina, much worse decision making.

Style and level wise he's lower table EPL type. Decent talent but not WC potential level. I don't know what Pirlo ball will be like, but thought of him in usual very calculated and cautious Italian gameplay is funny.

Don't know if he'll do well enough for us to exercise 20m option or not (more chances this season due to corona circumstances being more favorable to players of his type and age), but this is an excellent, well thought out transfer on and off the field and financially (no risk loan).
