not that mckennie was afwul, far from it. his defending stats are great: 6 tackles, 3 interceptions, 8 clearances, 1 block, pretty nice. on the other hand, only 13 accurate passes (52%), 0/4 accurate long balls, 0/2 successful dribbles, 8/15 duels won, possession lost 24 (!!!) times, hardly impressive

As you said stats don’t really tell the full story, it was mainly a mixed game from him where he covered a lot of ground and made very good use of his physicality but was largely uninspired in possession outside of a few good runs, either way he was still one of our better performers last night.
