It wan't his best game but IMO it wasn't so bad either.... If he goes back to his old form a la Matuidi plus he starts to attacks the box, he can become useful for us
He did make 3 interceptions (best on the pitch) and 3 clearances (best among all midfielders on the pitch) which makes it a quietly good defensive game from McKennie. It came at the expense of his attacking game. In at least 3 or 4 occasions we were missing a body in the box for the crosses, and I guess Allegri expected McKennie to be that guy.
We shouldn't expect a Vidal or a even a Marchisio from our midfielders. They are not the players to do a solid defensive job and still be a threat in attack. I'll be satisfied this year if Allegri gets the best out of them in at least one aspect of the game.
