Hamburger SV's new captain Tomas Ujfalusi has agreed to join newly-promoted Serie A club Fiorentina.
The deal was agreed on Friday after the player asked HSV to go: "I enjoyed my time here, but I have asked HSV to let me go. A childhood dream will become reality for me when I play in Italy, so it was a decision from the heart." Ujfalusi said this morning. "I would like to thank them for the many wonderful years here. Hamburg was great for me. I’m sure that the new team will make a big impact without me. I’m taking on a new challenge."
Oh his future in Florence, the 27-year-old said: "I am convinced that the team has the potential to play at the top of Serie A. Everything is in order there, you only get an offer like this one once in a lifetime."
HSV Sports Director, Dietmar Beiersdorfer promised a quick replacement for Ujfalusi: "Sportingly and humanly speaking, the loss of Tomas is a great loss for us, which we plan to compensate for as soon as possible. We will plough the transfer money back into the team."

I can't fvcking believe this :groan: Moggi and the rest of the Juve management are a bunch of twats. They KNOW that we BADLY need at least two QUALITY centre-backs and that the majority of our defenders are past it and getting ready to be grandfathers, so what's the obvious solution? Young talent! There's an abundance of young talented central defenders in the world, and most of them were on the transfer market as of a few months ago, but we've now seen Philippe Mexes, Matteo Ferrari, Nicolas Burdisso, Gonzalo Rodriguez, Ricardo Carvalho, and Tomas Ujfalusi join other clubs whose situation as far as I'm concerned isn't as dire as ours, and only one of those friggin' players had a transfer fee in excess of 10m. Moggi and Juventus get me sick.

He went there? What the hell? Well maybe he'll follow in the footsteps of Tomas Repka. But if not, Fiorentina will be very good this year, maybe better than last year's Sampdoria.
I'm still hoping that "Surpise" is Chivu from Roma. I mean they bought Mexes and Ferrari, so where's Chivu? They wouldn't need Ferrari and Chivu in the same squad.
