If it was me I'd sell Trez, start DP-Gila and drop whoever for Miccoli or Di Vaio depending on form.
To sign him isnt obviously means that we gonna keep him. You can ask bigger price for a player who has contract for 3-4 years, if he has only 1 year left no one will pay much, its cheaper to wait a year.

1. Davids is not coming back. I think the discussion we've had is more about where he will end up.

2. Possibility of him coming is average- worth to be discussed.

3. Ferrari is almost a Roma player

4. Oddo- so far no indication that Moggi is negotiation for this guy.
yeap, 100% agree :thumb:... Maybe this should be essential thread in transfer section... :D

I've given up on Davids, still think there's a chance we could get Cannavaro, Oddo I don't care about, but Ferrari, I'm really pissed about him going to Roma. He was one of the best defenders in Serie A last season and he's cheap too. At 24 he has at least ten seasons left in him.

Is Davids at Inter fo sho?

Damn, I hope not. I'm still hoping he comes back.

Also another point to note: We shouldn't think of getting Gilardino. We have 4 strikers at the moment, and decent players like Sculli and Gasbraonni on loan. We should keep what we have. Unless Trez or DV goes, I don't see why we should get another striker. And even if they did, I would get somebody who would sit on the bench.

Zalayeta anyone? :D

It's quite simple really. We know that Gila is a massive talent and even though there's no place for him in our squad as of yet, we can't afford to not get him. We should sign him and leave him at Parma for another season or two.

Oh. Something like what we did with Brighi? Problem is, what if Gila is a flash in the pan?

Let's just see how he plays next season before we make any moves on him. I think maybe that's what the board is planning, who knows?

Brighi was highly rated in his season at Bologna but he hasn't been getting rave reviews lately. So thats another reason why we should wait

Kind of shaky gamble, isn't it?

If we buy Gilardino, loan him to Parma or anybody else, and he starts to suck, his price will consequently go down.

That's what I'm trying to say. But football is a business - you have to take risks. I'm one who would play it safe in this situation because we have 4 proven strikers but 3 of them suck.

(The one I think is alright is Miccoli ;) )

I agree that trez doesn't warrant a starting place, but be fair, neither does delpiero, he's been just as shite!

Exactly.thats what im saying. If he starts off poor in whatever a friendly even I'll flip out and hope he just leaves until he watches old tapes of himself and goes on a rocky workout for a month a comes back as the greatest 1nce again.

If I was Moggi I would sell

Sell: Thuram, Tudor, Trezeguet, Iuliano and Appiah

    Buy:
Oddo, Cannavaro, Bonera, Gilardino, Perrotta, Jankulovski, Vieri.

I think that we are able to get these players so why not? With Legrottaglie, Ferrara (if he doesn't quit), Birindelli, Chiellini, Pessotto and Zebina on the bench we've got a strong defence.

The midfield is also strong, we got (maybe for the right position) Zambrotta, Tacchinardi, Brighi, Camoranesi, Nedved, Maresca and Blasi.

We have sold Trezeguet and get Vieri and Gilardino. With Gilardino, Miccoli and Di Viao we got a very young but strong attack and of course we have Del Piero.

    New selection:
    1 Buffon
    2 Ferrara
    3 Tacchinardi
    4 Bonera
    5 Cannavaro
    6 Jankulovski
    7 Pessotto
    8 Perrotta
    9 Miccoli
    10 Del Piero
    11 Nedved
    12 Chimenti
    13 Oddo
    14 Maresca
    15 Birindelli
    16 Camoranesi
    17 Gilardino
    18 Blasi
    19 Zambrotta
    20 Di Viao
    21 Vieri
    23 Legrottaglie
    24 Zebina
    25 Brighi
    26 Chiellini

That's my Juventus if I was the leader.

    One starting central back???

Birindelli, Oddo, Jankulovski, Zambrotta, Zebina, Pessotto. I think you see that wrong
Except for Zebina, those are all side backs. + you said yourself Zebina on the bench.
