Sure. Even if I reckon Canna is on the decline surely he isnt going to make schoolboy error Legro made on numerous occasions, and we are not going to get exposed in terms of speed with Canna and Thuram in the middle. However, I am not still sold on whether Thuram or Canna can organize defence. Thuram isnt vocal enough and reading the game isnt exactly his strongest attribute. Canna is definetely better in this aspect but I wouldnt exactly put him in the great list of organizers such as Nesta, Samuel, Mexes, Chivu et al. Canna is stopper IMO, and one of the best on his day. Then again we will likely to be playing back four which means that the need for libero isnt paramount compared to playing back 3. Beside, Canna has plenty of experience playing Thuram and Zambrotta so they should click well together. But I will reserve my judgement until I see us sign Canna and play some competitive match.

good post jun,but imo thuram and canna are capable of organizing and leading the defence,at least more than what montero and leggro were able to do last season.

getting canna in defence is a definite upgrade over what we have.
Yup. Even though Fabio hasn't had a good season at club level for a while he's still alot better than Montero, Legrottaglie, Ferrara, and co. As Jun said, he knows alot of our players really well, whether it's from the Azzurri or in his Parma days, so settling in shouldn't be a problem.

I think you're all right even he is not in his best form right now he is still much better than the most defenders we have

the thing is we probably don't have much time for a young defender to adapt so canna is probably a wise choice, for now.

i'd still like to state, though, that had we moved sooner for someone younger we wouldn't be in this situation.nobody's gonna buy canna when we don't need him anymore, just like montero, pessotto, iuliano.

And how much did we pay for Cannavaro desmond?, not much. So if we cant sell him in the future it doesnt matter, he is a legend who will be at Juve the rest of his career. For me this age thing is totally irrelevant since Cannavaro is physically superb!, and seen together with Nesta as the best defender in the world. I dont know what you apreciates but that is fine for me. And then you transfer freaks can look forward to a future defender signing in 4 years to replace Cannavaro if thats what its all about.

jus watch...mexes wil be the best.
haha no way, and Juve dont have the time to wait on Mexes to be the best, we bought the one who IS the best NOW.

And why dont wait to see how Mexes does it in Serie A before we praise him?, oh no i forgot that he might not be allowed to leave Auxerre by FIFA haha :D

Nesta and Cannavaro is more or less equally great, they are the best!. And when Roma eventually get Mexes, if they does, then lets see how long they can keep him, with their awesome economy ;)

roma will unfortunately repair their economy, and mexes will form the best defence, with ferrari and chivu...mexes will stand out as the leader.

Nesta has been far and away the best for at least two seasons. Canna lost his form moving to inter.

form is temporary, class is permanent. He will shine in Juve i think, we all now how good he is. And he is seen as the best or second best defender in the world by most experts.

Great defence requires more than just great individual talent at the back. Defending more than any area in soccer is a team effort. It starts from the forward pressing down opposition. Secondly I am not so sure on Thuram and Canna partnership - None of them are natural leader at the back even if Canna has a knack of snuffing out danger with his instinct.
I agree with this point, and what you're saying works in theory, but to be honest I think that if the two play at their best, we won't notice any of that :D

It's a brilliant partnership that nobody can complain about (not that you're complaining or anything), especially considering our central defence could easily have been Legro - Montero this season :yuck:

But what has he done to deserve to be praised more than legends like Cannavaro and Nesta?, its ridicoulus, he is just a little kid compared to those, for all we know he can loose it totally in Serie A and be a flop.

And there will be plenty of young talents like Mexes in the future when Cannis and Thuram most be replaced (in the future).

tehre could be potnetial replacements....leggo wa one.

But i have watched mexes for a number of years, his control of the defences, pace, reading of the game are top notch, and he is a libero who will bring it out to help start off the plays.

The french public, especaiily the ones i have met and discussed football with, all concur that mexes is there bright hope for the future. And all agree he will ease into serie a.
