Juventus are linked with Rooney, Ronaldinho, Farfan, Lampard and the biggest surprise is a Zidane return.

Did anybody see Gonzalo Rodriguez's performance against Manure? He marked Van Nistelrooy and Rooney out of the match and intercepted everything that came his way. He also haulted two for sure goals by last second interventions. Rodriguez is absolute class and I hope we can secure a deal for him...he seems to be 1000 times better than Barzagli. Hell we should have secured a deal for the kid before he went to Spain.

I would take him right now and play him instead of Thuram, if it was up to me. Rodriguez would give us that presence in the air that we have lacked in recent years.

Would he really? By my information he's only 178 centimeters tall, combine him with Cannavaro and I dont really see a big presence in the air.

From what I have seen he has a decent vertical and marks very well, certainly superior in the air to Thuram and Cannavaro by some margin.

That could be true, but we'd be in a great disadvantage against tall, powerful strikers if we didnt have a tall centre back. Imagine if we played against Re Dtar, who have Nikola Žigić who is 202 centimeters tall, there is no way Canna or Gonzalo would be able to mark him.

It is a long shot, but I dont think we could guard taller players with a Gonzalo - Canna pairing.

It's essentially the same situation as we have now basically, except that Rodriguez is better in the air than both of them. Franco Baresi was not exceptionally tall either, however he was still quite decent in the air and made up for it by reading the game.

You do not need to be tall to be good in the air...look at Cordoba as well.

You think we can afford him now that he owned ManU's duo? :frown:

We should have bought him 2 years ago when he was cheap.

*hoping we got some kind of option on him with Tacchi's loan to Villareal*
