Though Germany are out and of course surviving the group games is always a necessity, I think the knockout phase really determines how great a tournament is. That's when history is written. It's a shame Italy and Germany aren't in it (I really like traditional clashes), but some of the games look like really interesting match ups. Only thing I hate is that Spain have it relatively easy.
