I'm guessing hosting a WC in 1950 was an entirely different prospect to hosting one these days. There wouldn't have been anything like as many people travelling to it back then.
Even so, that wouldn't explain the almost wishful demise... and the clowns who say Brazil should have never been awarded the WC in the first place.

So Portugal still don't have a centre forward then?
Not since Eusebio, and he's dead.

    France 23 man squad :

    Goalkeepers: Lloris, Mandanda, Landreau.
Defenders: Debuchy, Sagna, Koscielny, Sakho, Varane, Mangala, Evra, Digne
Midfielders: Cabaye, Grenier, Matuidi, Mavuba, Pogba, Sissoko, Valbuena.
Strikers: Benzema, Giroud, Griezmann, Ribery, Remy.
Standby: Remy Cabella, Maxime Gonalons, Alexandre Lacazette, Loic Perrin, Stephane Ruffier, Morgan Schneiderlin, Benoit Tremoulinas.
    Where the fuck is Nasri?

Holy crap, I don't know half of those players.
I know 6 of their well known good players (plus crappy vet Kuijt), the rest, who the fuuuuuuuuuck are they? Its sad for Dutch NT when I look at their squad and scratch my head, while I look at Belgium squad and see its filled with quality, to the point they leave out Nainggolan entirely.

They basically have a missing generation of players, they are all either veterans or kids.

I know! Ffs, they played Spain in the final 4 years ago and they hardly beat them. They had a scary team and now all of a sudden.. wtf :shifty: They might be talented or something, but I highly doubt they will do anything good this year, just no way!

And yeah, Belgium has shitload of talent in their team, kinda sad Radja was left out tbh.

Clichy not being there is understandable, even if I dont like Evra, but Nasri, one of the better attacking midfielders around, not even called up, is baffling. Does he have a discipinary issue thats typical for the french that I missed?

Yep, he has plenty, considering he's not been called up for a while now.
