I hope we win with boring football , i really do. It's amazing when people talk about the lamest final ever, referee mistakes. I never hear them talking when Juve gets a favor. I dont care if we play the slowest football in the whole world, finally this group has learned to be effective and win and people still wining about it. Undeserved? Fuck off. Holland is undefeaten for over 24 games now , Yes small teams and big teams. We are always known in the world for being the best team that plays attractive and never won anything. This must be the moment we win even if thats without playing fancy football.
Bring the cup to Amsterdam Boys!
Like Vincent van Gogh once said : Orange is the color of insanity! You will see a world full of Orange and insanity if we win it.
Ow and Jack ,make sure youre near amsterdam on tuesday. Will be one heck of a party even if we dont win it.

Man, Europe is seriously rulling football. Best clubs, best national teams, best coaches, highest number of top players.

The others should simply stop trying.
whatever, we both know brazil was the best team of the tournament
I think Alen had a bit of irony in his post. But you got to admit it's pretty funny we have yet another all European final, after so many people said European football was dead.

I agree with you though. Brazil was the best team by far. But they could have done with a bit more samba and including Melo was probably the mistake of the century, even if he had a great assist.

Congrats for making the final, but you got to admit you've been pretty lucky. Looking at Sneijder's goals alone should leave you with that impression. It has been a long time since a team that has played this poorly is in the final. The last 25 minutes against Brazil were good and Van Marwijk has done a great job with his defense, considering only Van der Wiel is any good.

Spain may be a brilliant team, but they've been annoying all tournament and got some serious help from the referees against Paraguay and even Portugal, after all it was an offside goal.

Thx 7 i apreciate it
I do agree we had luck on our side , but to come this far you need luck. Especially with our defence. I'm quite impressed by Heitinga, he matured alot.
From what i think is that the players listend very carefully to Frank de Boer, must have told them that pretty football doesnt win you anything, also Philip Cocu plays a major role in this team.
I wonder who will be the referee.

Sab, i was so hoping for a Holland-Germany final......
Maybe we will make a EK 2012 final ;) ?

So I'm a little late here, but the Netherlands-Uruguay match was awesome. Still, I don't know if you could tell on television, but I thought Grygera was playing for Uruguay: Netherland's left flank was left totally uncovered and unmarked for most of the match, and Holland just tortured them from there every time. Cáceres had his side mostly covered, but talk about weak defensive positioning -- how did Uruguay make it through the group stage with so many clean sheets?

Meaning: Netherlands looked good. But given what Uruguay was playing, and what I saw of Holland, Netherlands has to be one of the worst teams I've seen make it to a World Cup final in a long while. That said, they still will probably beat Spain. :p

Oh, and better than the match was the Fan Walk -- a 2.6km walk from the downtown Cape Town train station to Green Point Stadium. Supposedly it was just meant to shuttle pedestrians to the match to avoid traffic. But over the Cup, it organically evolved into this Mardi Gras-like street party of music, food vendors, vuvuzelas, etc. 149,000 people turned up for it Tuesday night, and it was a blast. FIFA would be wise to try to create the conditions to recreate that for future World Cups.

Oh, and for pictures:

Nice Grego!! I'm sure you had a blast.

I think Uruguay's defensive problems were exposed because they had Lugano and Fucile out. I thought they did pretty well defensively during previous matches.

The problems weren't just skill -- they were positioning. It was as if nobody thought they were assigned that zone, and they left it open every time.
