Sure, I loved watching Zizou as well. But France wasn't a great team. I'd say they got lucky to get past Brazil in the quarters.

In 2006, the majority of the knockout matches were 1-0 finishes. France were masters at the 1-0 scoreline. Spain has done the same this time around, but they are receiving more heat than France in 2006. I'd ask the question why, but it's very obvious why.
Zidanes presence in the team made the team play better than they would have without him, but the French team definitely deserved to be in that final. They played Spain, Brazil and Portgual in route to the final. Thuram, Abidal, Malouda, Vieira and Henry all had good tournaments and all played very well after the first round.

The Italians deserved to be in the final too, if only for the game they played against Germany.

Do people realize how ironic the final is? It's the two biggest chokers in International football ever squaring off for all the beans. Based on the history of the two teams, the score should end knotted at -3.
So the ultimate prize in this final is to avoid being labeled as the biggest choker in international football.
I feel sorry for Germany, because they have played the best football of the tournament, but Spain were certainly the better team tonight.
:agree: Would have been great to see such an underestimated yet emphatic young German team rape their way to the World Cup title.

Portugal is missing in this final!

Zidane himself made the French great to watch. Xavi and Iniesta certainly fantastic players but neither nowhere near the level of Zidane.

I know only of four nations with fanboys, Brazil, Argentina, Italy and England and that's why I always want these nations to fail.
Spain has a lot of fanboys in the US.

American fanboys are the worst because not only do they not know what they are talking about but they to arrogant and unexposed to differing opinions to realize it.

Jack, are there really so many Italian fanboys around the world that you include them with the likes of Brazil, Argentina and England? I'm asking cos my opinion of the same is based mostly on the favourites in my country, and Italy is not one of them. In fact, everyone here hates Italy and love the other 3.
