i think we enjoy a different game, if a competent referee misses a call by inches it's fine by me and italy's fortunes were made and broken by close call... always!
It's not fine by me. The game is so fast nowadays that it's all about inches. If they get it wrong, it changes everything. Italy deserved to go out obviously, but Uruguay didn't. And some of the wrong offisde calls today weren't even close. I remember a call against Kuyt and one against Uruguay.. so so poor.

If the refs were good, I think Italy would have done great and probably won the whole thing.
As they did in the only 3 world cups when there was great officiating.

Seven, lets admit it, this is mostly about Italy's humiliation, isn't it? You'd have digested these awful calls much easier if Italy were still in the tournament.
Despite the many good points you make, sorry but I can't help feeling that your anger has much more to do with Italy than with anything else.
Italy? Are you for real, Alen? I said they deserved to go out before the tournament even started. If it's about one team in particular, it's about England. And no, I wouldn't have digested these awful calls much easier. Of course you won't look it up, but when calls went Juve's way in the past, I was disgusted too.

Childish by the way. I expected more from you.

Where are all the folk who were complaining about how shit the group games were and how this was the worst World Cup ever?

The knockout stages have been pretty damn good, in my opinion. The standard of football hasn't always been the best, but there have been plenty of exciting matches.

ok this part is actually a good point, and i believe if they re unsure they should let play continue, and i think that is what FIFA encourages anyway
True, but it's not what they do. I really think we need a system to help them, because it's becoming impossible for them to do a good job.

Sorry, it's a feeling I have. Can't change it. I can only accept that I might be wrong.

You started complaining after the first 5 minutes of Italy-Paraguay. Not before than and rarely after that and before NZ scored the goal to Italy (but not De Rossi's dive). Then it was Quagliarella's offside.

And after that the refs started doing all sorts of fuck ups and it added to the original anger.

That's simply not true. I was talking about De Rossi's dive after the New Zealand game. And yes, the officiating in the Paraguay game was horrid. But not once have I blamed the refs for Italy's failure.

You're simply using this against me to evade the bigger argument. It's very poor form. I never complained about Quag's offside and I'm not even doing so right now, it was an example to show how random it can be.

But you go ahead. If you want to hate, you can hate.

Agreed wholeheartedly, and no, you aren't wrong at all. I think Seven is someone who can't really let matters go, so his judgement is clouded.

This is bullshit. I've complained about the calls against the US. Complained about the call against England, against Mexico, against Portugal, against Uruguay.

I never even mentioned the calls against Italy since they happened. I've placed all the blame on the Italians themselves.

But this is not enough. You choose to cheat your way through an argument. Fucking morons.

You're a fucking cunt, Andy.
I'm just stating my opinion.

Don't blame me when you're warned for that. You do this all too often and then complain about it. In fact, you've personally insulted me countless times since you've come back, yet I haven't responded in such a tone, nor complained.

So you need to grow up for your own good, kid.

That's fucking rich.

Thank you, Alen, for throwing the moron at me again.

But what's the argument here?
You say that the refs can't follow the tempo of modern football and I agree with you. You want the help of technology and I agree with you.
I just fucking feel that your anger started with Italy and their exit and those couple of dubious calls there, which, lets face it, you didn't really accept well (You popped up angry asking for Paraguay to get 2 reds in the opening 5 minutes), and that the awful calls added to the original anger.

And you would have never digested these "close" calls if they had been favored Italy.. Now that we are talking hypothetically.

No. It's not okay. It was predetermined and it was a cheap shot. It's not an opinion. It just came in handy. I loathe that kind of attitude. But that's the person Andy really is.
Of course it was predetermined. I saw Alen's post, then posted in agreement.

But don't blame me. You never let things go. You still talk about 2002 like it was yesterday.

Your fault, not mine.

But I NEVER said Italy were out because of those calls. Those calls angered me, because they were awful. I never even spoke about Italy since their exit. TBH they didn't really enter my mind since. I'm mad about an offside goal scored by Holland, so I must be mad about Italy's exit? WTF?
