Oh cut the crap, Barrios doesn't even play.

It was a 100% legitimate goal.
I mixed the player up, but you guys are the ones who have watched football for years but still don't understand the offside rule.

Here, page 33: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/generic/81/42/36/lawsofthegame_2010_11_e.pdf

Offside position

It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position.
A player is in an offside position if:
• he is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the
second-last opponent
A player is not in an offside position if:
• he is in his own half of the fi eld of play or
• he is level with the second-last opponent or
• he is level with the last two opponents

Offence

A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball
touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee,
involved in active play by:
• interfering with play or
• interfering with an opponent or
• gaining an advantage by being in that position

They've made so many changes to the offside rule, that people can't catch up anymore.

His interference with Biscuits prevented Spain from clearing the ball. That is as much of a contribution to the goal as if he headed it to Valdez himself.
Even if it wasn't a challenge for the ball, Cardozo's presence there means a defender being have to mark him, so is this interfering with the game too? If it wasn't for Cardozo's presence, the defender could have marked Valdez instead preventing him from shooting the ball.

It's bullshit. It was a wrong decision and I'm sure the linesman didn't flag for Cardozo interfering with the game but he just thought that Valdez was in offside which he wasn't.

I'm not sure. Didn't follow the German NT at the time, did he?
I watched two games where he did.
Oh cut the crap, Barrios doesn't even play.
:seven:

Well, the linesman kinda rushed in there. The flag was up before the ball came to Valdez (I think the whistle came at the moment Valdez got the ball?). The cross came in, the linesman sees offside and raises the flag. Then Valdez gets the ball and scores.

Such a shame for Paraguay, but the linesman can be excused.
Yup, I saw that and I was WTF!!

Oh and no he's not excused.
Why do you have to touch the ball to be interfering with play?
This:
I myself thought that the offside rule has been changed, interference in play now equals touching the ball.

I could be wrong though.
You're not wrong

Yea, it's pretty ridiculous

Did you not see this bit from Juvejay's post? Whether you agree with the rules or not the ref is justified in calling that goal off.

He did none of the above. And as Alen said, the linesman raised the flag even before the ball headed for Cardozo. So no, it's not a valid decision but another fucked up one to add to the awesome tally.

Spain are the new FIFA baby.
And unsurprisingly most stupid American fans new second team :disagree:
In Berlin they made Public viewing in the Wannsee:lol2: Great idea since it was around 40°C today.
That's so sick.
:inter:

I don't know why everyone kisses their ass
Because most people consider them the number one team in the world right now. Same reason that at club level Barcelona have so many fanboys.

On the bright side Spain are habitual chokers, looks like they might not even make it past the quarters once again.
