The Slovakian coach might fuck this up. He said himself before the match against Italy that 4-2-3-1 is the formation that suits his players and that in other formations they struggled to give their best. Then he plays 4-2-3-1 vs Italy and it worked. Now he goes to 4-4-2.
Obviously he sets the formation to neutralize the Dutch. Unlike the match against Italy where he had to win, this time he might play for a draw and try his luck on counters. I doubt it will work but lets see.

Because I admire his tactical abilities, I always did and he is proving it more this World Cup.

Can you tell me more about him? I heard he was born in Switzerland, was he raised in Germany? Because he speaks German with a German dialect not a Swiss.
No he was born in Germany, just in the very south close to the swiss border( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schönau_im_Schwarzwald check the map picture). He trained some swiss clubs later.
He was an average player, is the all time leading goal scorer for SC Freiburg. He had a good start as a coach in Stuttgart, won the DFB cup, was in the final of the cup winner's cup and finished 4th twice in the league but got kicked out. Then he trained some smaller teams in Germany, Turkey and swiss but was always kicked out after half a year because of bad results.
Then he became part of the Klinsmann-Löw-Bierhoff triangle for the 06 WC. Löw was the tactical head while Klinsmann was more the motivator. We know the result. Though Klinsmann fucked it up with people behind the scenes and some of the players and there was no way he could continue working for the NT.
So Löw got head coach and picked Flick as assistant. A great combination.
