And that, IMO, is nonsense. But hey, keep on whining.
Another one! :D

First of all, I'm not Italian. Second, If I were Italian, I'd say we're the world champions, there's absolutely nothing to whine about and certainly nothing to prove.

I'm just reflecting on what I saw from refs in 2002. Objectively, anyone can see how Italy was heavily mistreated in 2002. It's not my problem that back then, you were new to the game and didn't understand a thing about football rules or should I say 'Soccer' rules.

Again, what whining?

Two against Croatia (the Inzaghi one being mind boggling)
You gotta be kidding me?
It was called a foul and it was a clear foul. Inzaghi pulled the shirt of our player and used it to come ahead of him. I knew that you meant that goal when you mentioned 5 goals so I checked every single available report on the net. From BBC to Gazzetta they all laugh at the goal the ref disallowed to Vieri (which was indeed a terrible terrible call), but for Inzaghi's goal they say in one voice how he made a clear foul.

And Pippo didn't even score that goal. He only blocked the goalkeeper's view.

Except the defender fouled him rather than the other way around. And even then it's still four goals in four games. Rather strange. And the red card for Totti? AND the horrible tackles from the Koreans? Come on, Italy had it pretty bad, Alen.

Yea? I thought you hated the English NT :p

Two of them were against Croatia
Sure, one call was really wrong, but it wasn't the ref who defeated Italy.

They score a goal, the ref disallows it for God knows what reason. They score another one after 4 minutes. 1:0
Then they concede two.

Even if the ref allowed Vieri's first goal it was gonna be 1:0 in the 51st minute, instead of 54th as it happened.

I'm not. And you are the one who still mentions Grosso penalty in 2006. I complain about bad refereeing as anyone does but I'm not mentioning it all the time. Thing is that however, for everyone who is a football fan, what happened to Italy and Spain in 2002 must sound MORE than normal refereeing mistakes. I don't know why you guys ignore it so easily.
Of course nobody will want to mention the Grosso dive. He's Italian and they won the World Cup after it.

And no, it's not everyone who feels that way, only fans of those said nations. The refereeing was poor, but it wasn't some big conspiracy. Half of those calls against Italy that folks keep mentioning are continuously misinterpreted by fans, like the supposed penalty on Totti, or the elbows during aerial challenges. They weren't penalties and they all were not red cards.

Whatever the case, even if Italy wins the World Cup this year, in 2014, and in 2018, we will always revisit the 2002 incidents no matter what year it is.

The Croatia game was poor refereeing. The Korea one was predetermined though. And another ref making the same poor mistakes in the quarter finals? I don't understand how anyone could be this blind. If you love football, you see that this was never right.

If you're a fucking racist American who had probably never heard of the sport before on the other hand..

Good Lord, I'm one of the staunchest Italy supporters on this board with over 30 years of hearing my father swear at the TV in languages that I didn't even know existed, and I got over that shit an hour after the World Cup ended.

Let. It. Go.

P.S. Italy got screwed in 2002

Elbows during aerial challenges? Del Piero was standing on his two feet when it happened, the Korean turned around and looked at him and THEN elbowed him.

That's fucking rich, Andy. And it's our captain you're talking about FFS.

Indeed. At the most 3.

I'm not an Italian and I don't feel insulted by Andy's or Burke's racial abuse, but it's getting tiresome how some teams, like the US or Belgium, are allowed to complain and others are not, like Italy and Spain.

Alen, I want all infos how could we end up first and second in our group.

Now
Germany beat Ghana 1-0, you need to beat Australia with four goals to be equal to the Germans. If Germany beat Ghana with any other result you have to beat Australia with even more goals to finish first in the group. If you get a draw in the other game, depends on the result, you are out/equal to Ghana/qualify as the second team.

Germany-Ghana ends in a draw. You will top the group with a win. You are out with any other result.

Ghana beat Germany, you will qualify with a draw and that's the maximum you can get.

Alen? :D

They both hold eachother's shirts and suddenly Inzaghi comes ahead of the defender (while holding his shirt) and the defender falls. This way Inzaghi comes in front of Pletikosa, blocks his view and the keeper doesn't save the ball.

I don't know what there is to complain about this. How can you say that it was the defender who made the foul?
