No. Handball on the goalline is a 100% red card.
How can that be? That's a very stupid rule. It's not like his hands were in the air or that he deliberately hit the ball with his hand. The only way that ball not to hit his hand was if someone cut his hand off.

And I'm yet to see if it was handball. His hand seemed very close to his body and the ball hit the part close to his shoulder.

There was an interview wtih Adidas couple of days ago and they asked about the ball and their response was that this ball was provided couple of months before WC and no one complained. Why now?!

P.S. I'm not in favor of this ball either.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it's the rule. Handball on the goalline is a red card.

If a ref calls handball he says it was intentional by the way. Or, as you sometimes get when players block the ball, that they knew they were very likely to hit it with their arms.

by the rules, if it's a handball, it's a red. That said, I don't think it was a handball. He was keeping his hands close to his body, he deserved the benefit of the doubt

show me the rules, he didn't play with his hand, ball got in his hand that's it!:sergio:
You guys don't know the rules?

It's a handball on the goalline! You get sent off if you make a foul that prevents a clear chance of scoring. When the ball is goalbound and you handle it.. that's always a red card.

i missed the second replay from a better angle so i will wait and watch it again but from what i've seen his hands where not close to his body to be honest i thought it was way to his right. will check again though.

yep its yellow card, nothin more.
No. It can only be red or nothing. If the ref interprets it as handball, it's a red card. The only thing that's debatable here is whether or not it was handball.

If it's not a handball on the line it is not even a freekick, if it is a handball on the line it is a straight red card.

You give one of those two decisions if you are a ref, not the in between one because you are not quite sure.

Exactly. You'd think that football fans would know such a basic rule.

so if im stayin on goalline, and u especially hit my hand with the ball, it's handball and red card for me?! thanks fifa for awesome rules D:
No. Perhaps the ref says it's not handball. But if it is, it's a red card. You have to intentionally hit the ball with your hand for it to be handball.

That's what I was saying. I don't think it was a handball, but if the ref sees a handball in the box like that it has to be a red
