Man, it was ridiculous. I was at one of the earlier qualifiers at BMO and they tied Jamaica 1-1 because Sutton dropped the ball on a corner. It was a pathetic performance by a pathetic team run by a pathetic federation.

Yeah, the infrastructure is still so fucking weak. Remember the U-20 WC in 2007? Can't get any worse than that... how do you host a fucking tournament and not score a goal?
Weird huh? The tournament is getting closer and it really doesn't feel that way, I'm excited for it but not near as much as I feel I should be. I have a feeling this WC won't be as good or as absorbing as 2006.
What is hard to understand about it? I am excited to see the United States play and very optimistic about our chances but as far as the rest of the tournament goes I'm not psyched for it yet. Before 2006 and the Euros I was counting down the days and waiting felt like torture, can't explain why I don't feel the same way about this one.
Don't know why but for some reason I'm just not as excited about it as I feel I should be. I think this Juve season has really taken a toll on me almost like I have gone numb to football. I'm hoping that once the tournament comes around that old familiar feeling will come back.
In my old age I keep anticipating each World Cup more and more, almost like a fetish. But with every match my support becomes more ferocious than before, so it seems. Which, in a strange way, is why I'm so worried about our sovereign debt issues as a nation. I don't want to see the Northeast have to play the West in World Cup qualifiers.

Juve has left a terrible taste in my mouth. It isn't even so much the losing and the accepting of so many losses. It's just the complete uninspired play and lack of quality.
Watching Juve this season isn't just an anti-endorsement for the club, it's an anti-endorsement of the sport.
