Man, it was ridiculous. I was at one of the earlier qualifiers at BMO and they tied Jamaica 1-1 because Sutton dropped the ball on a corner. It was a pathetic performance by a pathetic team run by a pathetic federation.
Times continue to be tough for the Canadian footy fan... it never ends

Yeah, the infrastructure is still so fucking weak. Remember the U-20 WC in 2007? Can't get any worse than that... how do you host a fucking tournament and not score a goal? :anon:

Yeah, curling and hockey. Wow, a real force to be reckoned with.
We also invented basketball!

Why would you say that? We didn't do that well in 2006. Barring absolute disaster, we stand a decent chance of going through.
I really enjoyed the tournament and the atmosphere in 2006 despite our NT failure.

I have high hopes for the States this time but I am just not overly excited about the tournament in general.

What is hard to understand about it? I am excited to see the United States play and very optimistic about our chances but as far as the rest of the tournament goes I'm not psyched for it yet. Before 2006 and the Euros I was counting down the days and waiting felt like torture, can't explain why I don't feel the same way about this one.

But that's the thing, I don't know why you feel that way. Is it because it's being held in an African Country?

There should be some reason to your ways.

Don't know why but for some reason I'm just not as excited about it as I feel I should be. I think this Juve season has really taken a toll on me almost like I have gone numb to football. I'm hoping that once the tournament comes around that old familiar feeling will come back.

In my old age I keep anticipating each World Cup more and more, almost like a fetish. But with every match my support becomes more ferocious than before, so it seems. Which, in a strange way, is why I'm so worried about our sovereign debt issues as a nation. I don't want to see the Northeast have to play the West in World Cup qualifiers. :(

Damn, that does suck.

Coach Bradley?

Nah, I am actually pretty excited about the U.S.'s chances.

Juve has left a terrible taste in my mouth. It isn't even so much the losing and the accepting of so many losses. It's just the complete uninspired play and lack of quality.

Watching Juve this season isn't just an anti-endorsement for the club, it's an anti-endorsement of the sport.

Let's create a Fantasy Football league! Anyone wants to participate?
I'm in! :weee: Let me dig around to see if I can set one up.
