As reported by the Daily Mirror, Brazilian footballing legend Pele has expressed his belief that Brazil and Spain are the favourites to win the World Cup, although Pele also spoke of his hope for an African finalist.

"Spain and Brazil have the best teams, but it is difficult to point to a specific team as a favourite," said the former No. 10. "I would love to see Brazil playing one of the African teams in the final. I have good knowledge of Africa and have no doubts that it will be a great World Cup this summer. It will be a good tournament, well organised and very exciting."

As for his home country's chances, Pele admitted that Brazil will have to work hard.
"Brazil will have to be at their best to win the World Cup this summer. It will be hard, but they can do it." Among others, Pele also picked England as a potential candidate, citing Fabio Capello's ability as a great coach and labelling the England squad as one with "good players, Wayne Rooney being the most dangerous".


So basically spain, Brazil, England and every african team are fucked.

Germany vs Netherland would a dream final. It would be tough for Holland to make it to the final, their game level just drop alot once it they enter knock out stages, and they tend to do plenty of mistakes, specially in defense which is their weakest line. They should have a problem knocking out the Italy in the 2nd round then they will probably face Brazil, and Brazil isn't scary like the old days and they are beatable and with some luck, consistancy, and confidence/blieve they can reach the semifinal ,and from there anything can happen. Once they knockout a big team in the knockout stages (Brazil), they will gain alot of confidence boost and then they can do alot of damage. It doesn't matter how good you are if you donn't believe in yourself and have the confident

True, I really haven't seen a really good dutch defender since Stam.

but i love the team and the way they play, them winning would be really a dream come true. Afterall as i see it the title is long overdue for Netherland.

The only things i would change is that i'd would have Van Der Sar play and be captain for a last world cup (i haven't seen that stekelenburg fella too much, is he good?). And maybe i would like to have RVN instead of Huntelaar. That's just me though.
