We will see what happens, but I think they won't be able to make a quick comeback after this shock. They are a much better team than NZ but they played with huge pressure in their debut. The last second goal killed them and puts even more pressure.
I think it will only make them more vulnerable against Paraguay.
Right now I think the schedule gives a little advantage to Paraguay. They play a shocked Slovakia and then a New Zealand which will already give their best against Slovakia and Italy.
Italy on the other hand plays NZ when the New Zealanders are at their highest and then in the last round against Slovakia that will probably play with no pressure at all at the time and will only play to finally leave a better impression.
On the other hand, one might put it the other way and say that Paraguay will have it tough against a wounded Slovakia, but Italy will have it easy against a Slovakia that will play for nothing.
We will see, but I feel that the goal difference will decide who wins this group. I see both ITA and PAR winning their last 2 matches. As things stand it will be important for both Italy and Paraguay not only to win, but to win by as much more goals possible. It's not the same playing Holland in the next round, or playing Japan, Denmark or Cameron.
