Which one was 15 times more deadly?

A red card, or a penalty in the last second of the match?
neither was deadly. the red was total joke. that was never a STRAIGHT red.

Grosso tried his luck and my guessing is that ref gave a penalty because he regreted the red.

the commentators said after the match that maybe the ref thought to give yellow but he accidently took out red and if had shown it already, he cant change the mistake. ;)

Really? And what about the possession or the cowardness of the Italians who did not want to try to attack. I am not rooting for anyone here, Matrix's red card was as a joke as the penalty given to Italy. Which was more fair? Well the penalty costed a team to leave the tournament.
The team you're crying for had many chances to win that match, but didn't use it...

So, why does Austarlia deserve to go through??

You don't believe in red cards for dangerous play?

Hmm, if I ever play you, I'll go in on you like that and see what you have to say.
That was rough, not dangerous. I have encountered such tackles b4.
And Bresciano got up that soon after the foul.

If you ask me, Matrix was robbed

People go in like that on me all the time really. It usually warrants you a yellow.

A yellow, as should've been given to Mastroeni. It's really not fair to demand a red for one, and yellow for the other

Either way, in the end, Italy was handed the game by those cunts at fifa.

I am beyond disgusted. As Tom said, it makes me sick.

Funny, robbed, yet his teams is in the semi's on the worst call of the tournament :disagree:

They are undoubtedly one of the most sportsmanlike teams in the tournament. You don't see the ausies rolling around on the floor after every challenge asking for a yellow.

It's so hard not to love them

I did not say that Australia deserve to go through. I said Italy were cowards and did not take their game. Italy were given an unfair red card. Australia had possession but did not use it. Australia were penalized an unfair penalty. Italy reached the quarter finals because of that. All I said were observations on the game.

Wait a minute, I thought Italy played 45 minutes with 10 men?

Was it a wrong call? Yes. Was it rough justice? Yes.

I still say screw FIFA as they are doing everything they can to screw games up, but Italy deserved this one even if only for that scandalous decision on Materazzi.

Neither was deadly? In what way is a false penalty in the last second of the game (the game was extended for the penalty, the only occurrence for which a referee can extend a match) not deadly?

I'm saying that the "cunts" in FIFA, as you call them, don't make their decisions on purpose...

Changing the refeering techniques should be the issue now...

Funny how they deserve it for a "scandelous" (yet debatable) decision on materazzi, and australia do not for their "scandelous" (and entirely bullshit) penalty in the last second.
