the 2003 summer transfer campaign was worse.Think about it, we bought 4 players Appiah,Maresca,Legro and Miccoli.Only Legro is with us now...
exactly, i remember every single player of those failed miserably. High expectations were there for all those players but they failed and i mean for all the games including the coppa and the CL.

We just came back from Serie B, the argument of "WE ARE JUVE" doesn't swing anymore. We have to work hard from the ground up. Thats the only way to earn our name back.

Back to the mercato, well everyone is talking about almiron and tiago. I dont see anyone is talking about the successes of nocerino and Iaquinta ? Those two players performed way above expectations especially Vincenzo.

Suck it up, we wont see any overhaul in the squad. And if we see even something remotely to that then and only then is where the problems start.

I agree with corinos, if anyone think it wasn't the worst year he better justify his choice.
It's 14th bloody round, for heaven's sake. How can we say it was the worst mercato so early in the season ?
Maybe it will be the worst one, but how the hell do you guys know this so early ?

We are 3rd with 26 points.
We have 7 wins-5 draws-2 defeats ( goal difference 29:13)

In 2001 we sold Inzaghi, Van der Sar and Zidane and we bought Nedved, Thuram, Buffon, Salas.
You remember how "good" Nedved and Salas were ? Especialy how good they were until New Year ?
In the first 14 rounds back then we were 6th placed and we had 22 points
We had 5 wins-7 draws- 2 defeats (goal difference 21:13)
Inter had 9 points more than us, Milan, Lazio, Roma, they were all in front of us. Even bloody Chievo had 7 points more than we did after the opening 14 rounds.
You remember what we, the Juve fans, were saying back then ? What did we think of Nedved ? Even Thuram and Gigi weren't briliant.
We sold a genius like Zidane and a goal machine like Inzaghi and we bought useless Nedved (as we thought back then), even more useless Salas and we payed 65m EUR for Thuram and Buffon

There, i believe this justifies my thoughts why it is very early to come up with such a brave statement that this was the worst mercato we had.

P.S: By the way, we won the scudetto back in 2001/02

Good Ones

Molinaro - Freakin' good! Our new Zambrotta and Chiellini should be CB for him to play LB :D

Iaquinta - Man.. I bashed him totally before he started playing. I judged him too fast. Man.. he is so good!

Nocerino - Good player, will be great when he passes better.

Criscito - Pure class. A few more muscles and pounds in the gym, he will be dominating. Plays really good.

Andrade - Can't rate him, but he played pretty good before injury. He will bounce back to the 1st XI later. Great defender.

Bad Ones

Salihamidzic - Utter shit! at RB och RM.. no defensive skills and no offensive ones. Times his runs all wrong, worse crosses than Zebina and defends like Zebina on the wrong day.

Grygera - Terrible marking, screws up offside-traps when he plays and afraid. Sometimes he won't even try to go into a duel.

Undecided Ones

Palladino - Hasn't really impressed me. But can't rate him just yet.

Almiron+Tiago - Almiron seems pretty useless so far. Tiago have done a good job when he played!

i love your optimism...even if it is from the weed you've been smokin' :p
Talking to me? I don't know why you would say that.. I think I've had a couple of :burke: but not too much.

Palladino haven't really impressed me though and Grygera+Brazzo are SHIT!

We must have done something right because were in third with no Camo or Marchi an old nedved and DP. the new players must be doing something right.
Ale was in inspirational form today...was making the Atalanta defence fall over themselves...and what more can be said about Neddy? a classic finish, trademark rocket from just outside the box :flag:

People who think we bought Palladino last summer shouldn't talk about the subject as far as I'm concerned.

That's the spirit I like... admiting it was a very bad mercato make you no less of a fan.
Noone is saying that it was a good mercato, but saying it's a worst mercato in Juve's recent history is taking it a bit too far. As Alen pointed out, the first half of the season it's not over yet and it's way too early to judge.

EDIT: And to those who are criticisng Balzaretti's transfer to Fiorentina and Molinaro's purchase: Have you ever seen Balzaretti play his first games for us? He looked clueless when he had the ball and was one of the worst players back then. Then he got a lot of playing time and developed into a good first team player (not great, but still a good one). Molinaro is the same age as Balzaretti was when he came here, so give this guy a break. I'm actually more impressed by Molinaro than I was with Balzaretti when we bought him.
