Here's a question-

I havent used Coolstreaming in a while, I am using it for the first time today in a long time

When I am using it, it is playing thru my Windows Media player, and not the VLC media player

I have the VLC player downloaded, so how can I switch it ??

All you need to do is copy the URL that pops out after a little while when you click on one of the channels.

It should be http://127.0.0.1:6789/1.asf or something like that. Just copy that link, then open up VLC, and go to File -> Open Stream or whatever, and paste the link into there

Gray, I'm not complaining, but the match quality was poor

Every few seconds the pic would freeze up, and it continued like this for the entire game

I checked the number of ppl watching the game, and it was 136. The quality was 56%.

Does this mean that if about 270 ppl were on that it would be about 100% ??

hrmm i'm not too sure about the ratios of users/quality, but 136 isn't very much considering you get upto 3000 for the big matches.

It also depends on your connection, which should be able to download around 80kb/s (very rough estimate) to watch the stream comfortably.

I usually find that I need to leave the streaming going for about 10 minutes before it gets smooth, and if it gets unbearable I use a bandwidth limiting program like Netlimiter to limit my upload speed to around 10-15 kb/s (to free up my connection for downloading)

Hmm, I've heard that Coolstreaming is dead, possibly forever, due to copyright issues.

There is a solution. Not as good as Coolstreaming but seems to have similar channels.

Download it, fiddle your way through the installation (it's in Chinese) and then when it's done it'll open up IE and show you the channels. Just select which one and click the play icon, it;ll open up in WMP.

It is a lot like Coolstreaming and PP Live, and it has Sportitalia on it (which will show a few of Juve's preseason games !!)

I just tried to watch the Juve - Pavia game, and even 60 minutes in, it kept stopping every 5 seconds

check it out, and give me your opinion
