Mazzarri: 'No contact with clubs'

Walter Mazzarri insists he has “not been in contact with any other club. I just want to evaluate my situation with Napoli.”
The Coach announced yesterday that he could quit at the end of the season, fuelling reports of negotiations already in place with Juventus.

“As with every year, we need to sit round a table and understand if there are the conditions to begin a new campaign together. It’s what I have always done in my career,” insisted Mazzarri.

“We didn’t know that we were going to reach the Champions League, so now I don’t know what is going to be expected of us. If we finish third or fourth will change the scenario.

“I swear that I have not been in contact with any other club. I have to talk to Napoli first and that will be at the end of the season. If this rapport comes to an end, then we’ll see.”

The Partenopei still need a point to be mathematically sure of Champions League football after losing 2-1 at Lecce this afternoon.

“We were naive and certain incidents proved decisive. Lecce managed to win with a great shot at the end. It was a tense encounter, but this is football.”

Edinson Cavani was sent off and will be suspended for next week’s battle with Inter.

“Cavani was a little tired and as such not quite as sharp as usual. He really wanted to score goals to win the Capocannoniere crown.”

That now looks unlikely, as Antonio Di Natale bagged a brace today to go clear on 28 goals compared to Cavani’s 26.

If we upgrade our team where our squad is extremely lacking, and we keep Del Neri I think we can achieve a CL spot next season. Not win the Scudetto, but earn a CL place and from there we can keep growing.

If we switch to Mazzarri we'll be going through this whole cycle again. We keep losing our identity whether it be our formations, our players, our administration or our coaches. We need stability. So Del Neri > Mazzari forsure.

That would be much better than hiring Mazzarri.

Buffon
Beck-Bonucci-Chiellini-Ziegler/De Ceglie
Krasic-Montollivo-Melo-Hazard
Matri-Aguero

That would do the job imo. Hazard and Aguero are probably the 2 champions Elkann and Agnelli are talking about.

No way. The champs are probably Aguero and maybe, if they can get the guy, Mascherano. If Hazard comes he wouldn't be seen as a champion by our board and for this reason he wont come as the board will think that +20M is too much for a youngster (I still have faith, though).

But that team is pretty probable for the next season if Del Neri is staying and if you trade Hazard with Bastos . :frown:

I'd rather stick with DN than get Mazzarri, they're basically the same level except DN has worked with our squad for a year. This guy is not a step up

:agree:

And the possibility of getting Deschamps. Didn't he say that if he came he would bring Hazard and M'Vila with him?
Does Hazard and M'Vila have a good relationship with DD or is he just naming the players he would like? What if they don't even like Deschamps? :p

I think it's only fair if we give deschamps a shot in it. He left because the board was filled with idiots. Which hopefully isn't the case anymore now.

What I'm wondering is: Why are we taking FSC's word for everything they say, when they get their information from 'sources' at Italian papers? We usually laugh at Corriere's rumours, for example.

Am I missing something here?
