This is the squad that Mazzarri wants for next year and the following season, minus a few touchups for the Champions League. He does want a full squad and a solid bench, which is why he wants Aquilani to stay.

If we get Mazzarri and his 3-5-2, forget Hazard, Menez, Krasic, Elia or any other creative winger. All wingers we'd be looking for would be wingers that everyone in our club loves, yes, you guessed it my friends, the defensive ones!
Cassani, Mascherano, Montolivo, Aguero and Matri > Zaccardo, Rolando, Pepe, Montolivo, Pazienza, Bastos, Matri and Pastore/Aguero/Tevez.
Quality > Quantity.
I could live with the first option and a plus (I mean, Coentrão/Hazard ).
Isla would be amazing, but in no means is a three-man defence a good idea. 4-4-2/4-3-3 or else gtfo, last year switching back to a 4-4-2 had cost us a shitload in money and now again a different formation for a new coach.
Aquilani will never perform in Mazzarri's system. He has not the right intensity to do so. He's a better player than Montolivo, though. But still, with Mazzarri I'd rather have Montolivo.

I agree with Elia, but not with the others. Krasic coz he's already in the club and the fucking Mazzarri would have to get some space for him. The other two coz they're not exactly pure wingers. They can play in the middle, so they could perform in the front three (3-4-3).
