Iaquinta never was a great player, and I don't think he will.. I still feel the same way, wrong transfer, a wrong target. we could sign a better and a younger talent with a few more mills..

he might not be the best striker out there, but he will prove to be a good signing for us this season. He is was determined to join a big club, and even said that he is prepared to fight for his spot from the bench. among all the top forwards in italy he was chosen for the world cup squad by Lippi, and he is arguably the best coach of the past decade, he knows his stuff!

Everybody has his errors, and Lippi's error is Iaquinta.

I can't understand how Iaquinta was put on the '06 NT for the WC and Lippi didn't call up a clearly more talented player like Lucarelli, politics aside. Because there's always this element of "spreading the love around" between clubs when making your call-ups, and Livorno wasn't exactly sending a massive squad over versus Udinese.

Yeah. I think Lucarelli deserved a call-up.

i have to agree with you about Lucarelli, i think he definitely deserved a call up but i suppose Lippi just preferred Iaquinta over him. As i have said before, Iaquinta may not be the most talented player out there, but he has heart, he is determined and he is not scared of competition. I dont like to see people criticising him for a couple mistakes against Newcastle, ffs it was a friendly. Give the guy time to settle in, IMO soon as he finds his space at Juve, he will prove to be a good signing. Sure there might have been better prospects out there to sign, but i am confident of Iaquinta's ability, just hope he proves me right.

Just for info,

We don't criticize him for his performance in Newcastle but because I saw him with Udinese in over ten matches and he never impressed me ever.

Quite alot??

:lol2:

My grandmother was decisive to Italy more than him.
you are chatting shit mate. you know he played quite a bit. he played 192 mins, more than DP. and iaquinta did well for what time he got. it is unfair to penalise one player. would you consider DP's role more important in winning the world cup, probably but thats down to bias and the fact that you just dont like iaquinta.

Lucarelli over Toni or Gila though..? Only so many seats on that WC plane y'know..

But Iaquinta/Lucarelli are incomparable players IMO so that's BS.. And still Iaquinta scored a versatile hat-trick on his CL debut just like Rooney so give the guy some respect (PS Lucarelli didn't..)

Against Olympiakos where all his goals were set up on a silver platter for him.
