Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta hopes to return to full fitness in time for the top of the table clash with Inter on December 5.

The 29-year-old is currently recovering from surgery on the meniscus in his knee, an injury suffered by Gigi Buffon, Claudio Marchisio and Davide Santon.

“Three weeks have past since the operation. Defining the recovery time will not be simple,” Iaquinta told Tuttosport.

“It will not be easy, but my wish is that of playing against Inter. I would like to play the match against the Nerazzurri and hopefully score the decisive goal.

“What's certain is that it will be a battle with Mourinho's team. There is no medicine for it. We'll need to concentrate for more than 90 minutes,” Iaquinta concluded.

I was talking to a friend of mine who's a coach at a pretty high level here in Sweden. We started talking about formations with a lone striker and he told be that the most important characteristic for a lone striker is that he can run all the time and almost never stand still. That made me immediately think of Vinnie. I hope he's back pretty soon cuz I'm really looking forward to see what he can do up there.

The question is again, WHY PLAY WITH A LONE STRIKER, when we have the world's best assistant striker, a.k.a Del Piero.

Shevchenko: "I want to stay at Milan for life."

Kaka: "I want to stay at Milan for life."

Figo: "I want to stay at Barca for life."

Ronaldo: "I want to stay at Inter for life."

Owen: "I want to stay at Liverpool for life."

Nothing against Vinny, just that out of experience, that statement bugs me. Its plausible and nice in (rarer) certain cases.

ًWhat's interesting though, is that 4 out the 5 examples you gave eventually went to Real Madrid. Maybe that's all the player needs to say to go there :p
