britneyboards.com has that new style I think and what I hate about it is that the page freezes for some seconds while its loaging, but I like that feature that you put your mouse on the thread title and you can read the first lines to see if its worth opening or not

Here's one: Can we keep certain parts of the page fixed so they dont have to be reloaded each time you go to a new page? Like the banner and the options bar on the top and bottom, etc

That is already happening to an extent. All images are cached, meaning you don't re-download them for every loading. Though that doesn't mean the browser always displays them correctly from cache even when they are cached.

martin, just one request. no pictures in signatures. i checked how forums with vb3 look like and all those huge pisctures in signatures. sometimes it is hard to understand where the post ends and signature begins.

IMO: idea with a bit bigger avatar is not bad, but I would think about sth I specially like:
few new smilies wouldnt be bad, we dont use many of old, but few new smilies could express out thoughts and feelings better
