:agree: HSV is playing on 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 and van der Vaart is the attacking mid or the support striker. Beside this, hes playing not very good as a winger.
definitely..i wish i can catch more games of Hamburg..for those who do watch them..does any of you know how Zidan is doing?? i know he plays second fiddle to Olic but how well does he do when he does get a chance?

I've noticed before that you dont rate Olic..whys that??He's seemed like a good player every time I've seen him.
Olic is a poor excuse for a football player. If there ever was a one-dimensional player, than it's him. He's got nothing going for him apart from speed(he's really fast). He's not clinical in front of the goal(I've seen him miss serious sitters), he's uncapable of running with the ball(he always kicks it too hard and just keeps on running after it, usually ends up in goal kick), he's incapable of dribbling(the only time he passes a player if he's an old fart like Costacurta). Passing he doesn't even try if the distance to the target player is over 3m. Overall he's average, at best, in every aspect of attacking play except for speed.

This season he's been doing fairly well but he's still simply not a good player. There isn't a Croatian that considers him one, and we've seen a lot of Olic.

reminds me of a statement from years ago. george best was asked to collect the runner-up(i think) for european footballer of the year for david beckham. they asked besty what he thought of becks and he said-**EDIT** found the quote

He cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right.

Too bad Georgie was a fairly limited player himself. In fact, overall Beckham has got far more qualities.

I want him here too, but as you can see, he never had an injury free season. He can't play 30 matches a season.

Still want him though.

Van Der Vaart Denies Contact With Juve

Hamburg captain Rafael van der Vaart has denied there has been any contact between himself and Juventus.

Van der Vaart has rejected the offer from Hamburg to extend his current contact with the club, and is widely expected to leave for Italy or Spain in the summer.

The club on everybody's lips in recent days has been that of Juventus, with some sources claiming a deal is as good as done.

However, the Dutchman has moved to deny such reports.

"I have had no contact with Juventus" the HSV captain told 'Welt-Online'.

He denied Italian media reports that a deal had already been completed. "It's all still very open" he admitted.

Ibramovic 'Van der vart to Juve? A good for Italian football '

15:31, January 11

The Dutch Elfvoetbal site quotes the words of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Rafael van der Vaart: "I have great respect for Rafael, I have nothing against him. Far as I am concerned there is no problem". The sample of refers to the old ruggini between the two dating back to the time of, exacerbated by a clash during a friendly game between Sweden and the Netherlands in 2004. With regard to a possible engagement by the Juve, Ibrahimovic adds: 'I hope to be, it would be good for Italian football and for the fight scudetto'

Wow i haven't posted in a while...running all over the place in the last few months. Anyway this VDV saga is really getting me depressed, i just really wanna see it over and the guy wearing a Juve shirt already. But i have a strange feeling Secco or even Ranieri is gonna F*** this up, because it now appears he (Ranieri) doesn't want him at Juve. SHit
