I am not Mark77 but I can tell you what exactly happens.

Juve or secco might have reached an agreement with VDV, and he thinks I am going to wait until the summer after the holidays.. then he wakes up at 12 PM and thinks aahh, now I can call the managment of hamburg and offer them the millions.. the hamburger managment will say, sorry but Abramovic was here and offered us 10 m more.. he is off to london :shifty:

Should we be as pessimistic as you are ?Humm, I don't think so. Sure Secco is not the right man for getting us world class player. The case of VDV is different though. The guy wants to play for us. Still, to not lose this one also, we should close this deal now.

This is a Dutch article saying that Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in VdV. Tottenham manager Ramos has already had personal contact with the midfielder. However, the Daily Mail is convinced that VdV will play in the serie A next term as he declared that he already sees himself playing overthere.

My opinion is that Secco and his butt-buddies are not acting fast enough. When a player of his calibre shows interest in playing for your club, you should talk with that kid all day long. Don't sleep, don't make love to your boyfiend, just sign that guy.

A local newspaper from Bremen is reporting that VDV is close to an agreement with Juve mentioning an offer of 17m €. Gigli is quoted saying that Juve won't pay too much for VDV since they prefer signing free players.

HAMBURG RESIGNED TO RAFAEL'S EXIT

Hamburg have accepted defeat in their bid to keep hold of midfielder Rafael van der Vaart and are making plans to replace him in the summer.

The 24-year-old Holland international confirmed at the weekend he will not be extending his contract, which is due to expire in 2010.

That deal includes a release clause allowing him to leave in 2009 for 1.5million euros and Hamburg now look set to cash in on their highly-rated playmaker.

"His decision does not catch us unprepared," said Hamburg chairman Bernd Hoffmann.

"We have been planning on two fronts for a while now and had many positive discussions with Rafael.

"We are looking forward to the next six months with him and he will certainly continue to give us 100%."

Van der Vaart was the focus of a club-record transfer bid from Valencia last summer, but the offer was rejected by Hamburg.

Since then, they have been locked in talks about extending the midfielder's contract but to no avail.

Van der Vaart has been a leading figure in Hamburg's challenge at the top of the Bundesliga so far this season, scoring nine goals in 14 games.

That has reportedly attracted interest from Juventus and Valencia, although Hoffmann revealed that neither club had stepped forward with a bid.

"There are no concrete offers from any interested club as yet," he told Bild.
