Juve Want Van Der Vaart

Juventus are preparing an offer for Hamburg midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart, according to Tuttosport.

The Dutch star is one of the most highly-rated midfielders in Europe and has also recently been linked with a move to Real Madrid, Valencia and Chelsea.

The 24-year-old, who has had a sensational start to the new German season with seven goals in his first nine games, is available for the modest sum of €12m.

Juventus director of sport Alessio Secco is said to be a huge admirer of the player and is prepared to fork out eight to 10 million to bring him to Turin.

Van der Vaart’s preferred destination is said to be Spain, and his favourite club as a young boy was Barcelona.

The recent appointment of Van der Vaart’s former Ajax Coach, Ronald Koeman at Valencia has seen rumours of a move to the Mestalla resurface.

"He is a fantastic player whom I would gladly see at Valencia," Koeman told De Telegraaf earlier this week.

Koeman and Van der Vaart fell out during their time together in Amsterdam but the pair are believed to have buried the hatchet.

All the Spanish teams have no need for VDV, whereas we desparately do, I think he knows what's best for him.

injury prone....

i wouldn't want him.
his heart isn't in italy.
no point.
:agree: we all know that his dream isn't Italy or England. He has his heart set for spain. His mother is spanish and he has family there. This is a transfer that won't happen at all.

Only if we get a new board & manager in the meantime.

Keep up the good work Tuttosport
I agree with that we should get a new president and new directors. The manager isn't exactly the best but he should be given the opportunity since he has proven himself. If only he would make better substitutions.

Ranieri keen to add invention to Juventus midfield
tribalfootball.com - December 03, 2007

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri wants to add more invention to his midfield during the January market.

Tuttosport says Ranieri has already held talks with Juve directors and hopes to call on quality playmaker for the second-half of the season.

Juve's top targets are Werder Bremen star Diego and Hamburg's Rafael van der Vaart, who were watched by Bianconeri scouts last weekend.

sure but I meant we wouldn't go for the big names that other clubs want because we can't compete with them financially. Leon is good but I'd still go with Giovinco.
