Milan and Juve chasing Van der Vaart

AC Milan and Juventus are chasing the signature of SV Hamburg's star midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart, according to the Italian media.

The Dutchman came close to quitting the Bundesliga side in the close season with Valencia seeking his signature but Hamburg refused to sell and the former Ajax man was forced to stay put.

A regular in the Dutch national team, he has had a sterling season and Italian football website Datasport.it claimed Tuesday that European champions Milan, and Juve, are ready to go head-to-head to sign him up.

It claimed Juve see him as an ideal replacement for veteran Czech playmaker Pavel Nedved while Milan feel he could form a lethal partnership with Ballon d'Or winner Kaka.

However, it also claims that Van der Vaart, who has a Spanish mother, still has his sights set on a move to Spain, with Barcelona, Valencia and Atletico Madrid all tracking him.

 VdV-Trez-Iaquinta

Rumors in Italy are really intensifying about VdV to Juve, Kewell rumors also though. :D
He definitely fits the Juventus MO though.

Young, talented, somewhat overlooked, affordable.

Ranieri can talk all he wants... there's gonna be two additions in January, I'm sure of it. Would not be surprised if this is one of them.

I think it will be hard to get him in January.

Hamburg will be reluctant to sell while they are still in contention for the Bundesliga and looking to secure a Champions League spot.

Do a deal in January for him to join in the summer.

We have a bigger change that either Diego or Ronaldhino will join us, rather than VDV. Don't get me wrong I like him and LOVE his MISSUS (she is  hot) but he has stated a lot of times that he wants to play in the Spanish league, most likely Valencia.

Valencia probably doesn't seem quite so attractive at the moment, they are unlikely to be in the Champions League next season.

This is the most likely scenario, though he'd be nice for a Scudetto/Coppa push. I would not be surprised if there was a clause stating that VDV can back out if Juventus does not qualify for CL/UEFA.
