CHELSEA, Grant asks Van der Vaart

Besides the well-known interest of Valencia, to the most recent of Inter, and Real Madrid, seems that also Chelsea's trainer Avraam Grant had required officially to Abramovich the dutch player. Seems that the value, naturally increased because blues interest, is about 20 million pounds. There are rumors about that Frank Arnesen has been able to rip more than a simple promise to Soren Lerby, Van der Vaart 's agent.

Van der Vaart: Wants Spanish switch

Rafael van der Vaart has reiterated his desire to move to Spain and blasted Hamburg for rejecting an offer for him over the summer, which would have seen them make a huge profit.

The Dutch midfielder was reportedly the subject of bids from Real Madrid and Valencia in the recent transfer window and he is furious at being denied his chance to join the Spanish giants.

Hamburg stated recently that they were confident he would sign an extension to his existing deal at the club, but that now appears to be a distant hope.

"I want to go to Spain, and that is the end of it," Van der Vaart told the Bild am Sonntag.

"In May, (Hamburg president Bernd) Hoffmann came to me and asked how they could make me happier. I said that I wanted to move to Spain and that I would always like to consider any such offers, and he agreed.

"Then a team came in, and suddenly I am not for sale at any price.

Profit margin

"I arrived for €5m and then HSV could have made €22m, but nobody at the club wanted to discuss it.

"I cannot understand that."

Van der Vaart has explained that his strong desire to play in La Liga stems from the fact that his mother is Spanish and he has a lot of family in the country.

During the summer he was disciplined by the Bundesliga outfit for being photographed wearing a Valencia shirt.

Despite the off-field distractions, the former Ajax star has already scored seven goals in eight games for Hamburg this term.

Koeman The Catalyst In Valencia's Van Der Vaart Approach

While the Valencia players haven’t had the chance to even meet their new coach yet, Ronald Koeman is already thinking about strengthening the squad in January – and it seems like he’s even set a target.

Rafael Van Der Vaart was strongly linked with Valencia in the summer, when he even posed with a Che shirt, before Hamburger SV aborted the 21.5-million-euro move.

However, he’s made no secret of his desire to join a Spanish side because of his family ties, though stating that he wouldn’t like to leave Germany before the end of the season.

Perhaps the most gifted midfielder of yet another talented generation of Dutch footballers, and only 24 years old, the former Ajax playmaker is arguably HSV’s biggest asset.

After moving across the border from Amsterdam for 5.5 million in the summer of 2005 he has become the German side’s natural leader with 82 appearances, 39 goals and numerous assists.

Valencia have the edge

It is so no wonder that he’s attracted the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, such as Chelsea, Internazionale, Bayern Munich and – of course – Valencia, who now appear to have the edge over their competitors.

The reason is simple: Koeman. Jan Wouters promoted Van Der Vaart to the Ajax first team and Co Adriaanse established him as a regular, but it was under the new Valencia manager that he flourished for almost four years, even though they had their disagreements – especially when Koeman decided that Van Der Vaart should give up the captain’s armband, in December 2004.

A thing of the past

Are they prepared to leave the past behind them, should Valencia match Chelsea’s alleged 28.9-million bid?

Koeman certainly is. “Rafael is a fantastic player and I’d gladly welcome him to Valencia. What’s happened is a thing of the past and we all learn from our experiences.” the former PSV Eindhoven boss told “De telegraaf” newspaper.

Van Der Vaart seems to agree. “What has occurred in the past between me and Koeman won’t stand in the way of a possible move to Valencia. I have matured and learned. We dealt with some things in a different way, but that’s history.”

TUTTOSPORT - Juventus : Van der Vaart always observed

Isn't a novelty Juventus interest for Hamburg midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart. And isn't a novelty the will of the player to leave Germany. His dream is Spain but also the italian championship. During last time Juventus executives have always observed the dutch player and reports about him arrived to Sports Director Secco, were always good. The german club want about 12 million euros, and Juve is ready to fork out 8 or 10 millions, so probably there is possibility of negotiation.
