You tend to put us europeans into one single pot too much, that just shows that you have no idea about europe.
He's american, they call NBA final winners the world champions and baseball finals the world series or something like that.

Hmm, Congressional Research Service. Lets see. The Congress benefits from tax revenue, they fund the Congressional Research Service. And what do they purport? The above.

Big fuucking surprise that is.

People quoting government sources are just as bad as the politicians.
I do not expect Europeans to realize this stuff and never will. They just love big government way too much.

I'd be pissed too if my government simply found new ways to screw me over for the benefit of the rich, screwed around with my children's education by putting intelligent design in there, invaded countries I'd be incapable of finding in an atlas, enforced a two-party oligarchy, where all men are created equal; except gays/lesbians, have a war on drugs rather than a war on ignorance, more people in prison than the prison population of whole continents and overall a government that'd rather jerk off rather than do its job.

Yes, I'd expect Americans to be pissed at government, but I'd hardly think they would realise why we Europeans love government.

I can't wait until 'The Old Man' or his Parrot replies with yet another Fata Morgana.

I would like to take this chance to remind everyone that earlier this year Mitt Romney was pretty unanimously considered the strongest candidate in the Republican field — by a large margin. He was, without much question, the most electable of the primary bunch and the toughest opponent for Barack Obama. He was disciplined, well-funded, and had a moderate background that appealed to independents. He was, in short, the very best the Republicans had to offer in the year 2012.

This was not a fantasy, either. It was an accurate assessment. Romney was the best they had. The very best.

Let that sink in for a bit.

I bet that among the drug dealer prison population they could have easily found someone more suitable.
