Fighting against all racist forms and expressions, through the education of young people in order to transmit them fundamental values such as respect, brotherhood, and integration. This is the spirit which cemented the relationship between Juventus and UNESCO Center in Turin. A cooperation which gave life to the second edition of ‘Un calcio al razzismo’ [Kicking racism out]. The contest presented in May 2011 at the ‘Salone del Libro’ in Turin, offered two scholarships of 5,000.00 Euros each, meant for a student and for a Higher Education School of 2nd level who carried out significant activities in the fight against racism and in promoting integration.
Following a through assessment of the works submitted, the judging panel decided to award Miss Giuliana Sgroi and the ‘Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore F. Albert in Lanzo Torinese, reserving honorable mention for the projects from Miss Elena Dal Santo and from the ‘Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore P. Calamandrei’ in Santhià.
This morning, the winners went to Juventus’ HQ and received their scholarships and merit certificates directly from Juventus Managing Director Giuseppe Marotta and from Gianluca Pessotto, the latter having awarded the winners of the first contest edition as well.
However, the contest winners lived just one step of their experience with Juventus. The Bianconeri’s club invited them - along with several representatives of the contest participants - at the Juventus stadium in order to attend this evening’s match against Udinese: the best and most direct way to bring positive values and the fight against racism into Italian stadiums.
