just back from voting labour, can't believe how many people there were, even if this election has 3 weak candidates it's has surely made British democracy stronger as it had revived the publics interest.

    It's entirely up to the individual here.

    I think only about 60% of the electorate bothered in the last couple of General Elections.

    That's not much of a democracy.
    well, you are free to vote for whoever you want
    but we have a lot of parties and because a lot of people dislike politicians, they vote for someone who will never be ellected
    for instance we have a rascist party who are blocked by all the others so they will never be in the government
    a lot of people vote for them, not because they are racist but because they want to send a signal to all the others
    voting should be a right not an obligation

    Most polls seem to think Tories have come up a bit short of an overall majority, but may well have enough to govern as a minority government, if they can form an alliance with a smaller party or two.
