Italian coaches Walter Zenga and Luciano Spalletti will put friendship to one side on Thursday evening when their respective teams
FK Crvena Zvezda and AS Roma
meet in UEFA Cup Group E.
Fever pitch
The Marakana Stadium in Belgrade will be full to bursting for Roma's much-anticipated visit - Italian football is enthusiastically followed in Serbia and Montenegro and the Giallorossi are one of the most popular teams.
Rašković sidelined
Zenga has a nearly full complement of players, with only striker
Milanko Rašković sidelined by injury. The coach said: "We are in a tough position after two defeats in Group E. I have a young side and they have a lot of pressure on them.
Hopes remain high
"But we still have a chance and we must compete. I know Roma, and their coach Luciano Spalletti is a close friend. I am an optimist - we will aim to play attacking and attractive football, and I expect a good result."
Injury concerns
Spalletti, by contrast, will be without several key players. Francesco Totti (foot), Mancini (calf), Vincenzo Montella (back), Cristian Chivu (thigh) and Olivier Dacourt (thigh) did not travel, while Simone Perrotta and Cesare Bovo are suspended.
Cassano chance
Antonio Cassano, a scorer for second-placed Roma against RC Strasbourg last week, is expected to start alongside Shabani Nonda in attack. Spalletti said: "We will miss a few players but it will be a good chance for others who have had less opportunity up till now.
It's probably the most difficult game in the group, but I'm convinced we can win."
