Yes, Clark, excuse me.

But I know why Bradley plays Ching. He does it just to show that the MLS can produce NT-level players. But too bad his specimen fails.

Same reason why Casey was on the bench.

I think people over-hype the Azteca. I think the size of the crowd has more to do with the play than the altitude.

I just don't understand why one would want to play defense for 60 minutes instead of conserve energy by holding the ball.

I don't know if I agree. I was sitting with my buddy at the pub, and he played at 8,000 feet before, and also did some skiing at 10,000 feet in Summit CO. He said that he had trouble running a mile at that level, and he played college for a year at the Mount.

There's no doubt that the elevation causes problems.

And the reason why we can't conserve energy by holding the ball is because we CANT. We couldn't do that in 70 degree weather against Brazil in SA, so fat chance we'll do it now. Doesn't help at those feet.

I'm not arguing about that but I've spent 16 hour days at 7,000 feet fighting fires with smoke inhalation and to be honest it wasn't much different than a fire at 1,200 feet. (both suck) You just have to realize your situation and make adjustments.

Bradley went in hoping to get early one and then play defense the rest of the way. It's retarded to think of doing that at altitude. If you get the early goal then you sit on it. Do Jack's favorite La Liga trick of listless passing. Sitting back and hoping to have energy to make a counter is stupid, especially when you know going into it the type of hardships you're going to face. And this was the match to beat Mexico. Blanco is old, they don't really have a striker of note, and the back line isn't half as good without Marquez. If he had played Altidore and Feilhaber (more than he did). I'm almost positive we would have won.

And I think we agree on this last comment, but fuck Brian "Mexico Killer" Ching. The guy is worthless... and he's slow. If we're going to have an MLS-er on the team I'd rather it be Convey, Danny S, or Jaqua.

When Velo came on for Blanco, I knew it was over. The speed and fresh legs will always kill us at the back.

They should have just used the usual straight 4-4-2 with Spector and Jozy and without you know whom and we would have done fine. Possibly drew.

But yeah, that ref sucked. One of the worst refs ever.

I wonder if they use a different ball, because I know that above a mile, the ball performs differently. In Denver, at Bronco games, they use heavier balls, and they use heavier tennis balls above certain altitudes. Did you see how well they were shooting from distance and how bad a lot of our touches were....

    Questionable at best...

Mexico made CONCACAF switch the ref last minute because he was from El Salvador.

On another note Charlie Davies is the fucking future. His goal was one of the sweetest I've seen in a while. The kid has talent.

Meh, I wouldn't look much into that. It's bad enough they have to play in that filth stench, but since I think Quito should host matches, I can't be a hypocrite. It's their capital, they can do what they want with the stadium as long as it meets standards.

    Ohh, how nice.

Davies is fantastic. Too bad he'll always be subject to the bench if Ching is fit.

    No problem.
Read this thread and look at the Ching/Bradley apologists. They have said this shit for the past year. :howler:
